AACOG is creating a four-hour training program for first responders about Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. The training will prepare law enforcement officers and other first responders to respond effectively and interact with special populations in different emergency situations
Community involvement and partnership are key to tailoring this new training to meet the needs of our local area. As a leader in the disability and/or first responder community you are invited to attend an important stakeholders meeting:
WHEN: Monday, October 17 from 1 – 3 PM
WHERE: Alamo Area Council of Governments (AACOG)
First Floor Board Room
8700 Tesoro Drive, San Antonio, Texas.
At this partnership meeting we will:
· Discuss local needs
· Create a vision of the ideal training
· Identify existing tools and program elements that can be integrated into this training
· Identify some potential trainers for future training teams
Your expertise and insight as a leader in this area is highly valued. We welcome your input to help us create an excellent training program that will be particularly suited to the needs of our region.
Please RSVP your attendance to Susan Lodge at firstname.lastname@example.org or (210) 362-5230.
